About me
I have served as a school counselor at Challenger Early College High School since 2018 and bring 17 years of experience in school counseling, including seven years working directly with early college students. While I enjoy working with students at all grade levels, I specialize in supporting juniors and seniors as they transition into life after high school and college. My areas of expertise include navigating the college application and financial aid processes, developing interview skills, resume building, and helping students overcome barriers that may interfere with their ability to successfully complete an early college education.
My entire professional career has been dedicated to serving students in Catawba County. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a concentration in Family Development and a Master’s degree in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University. I also teach our Senior Seminar (Connections) course, which is designed to help students explore postsecondary options and confidently launch into the next phase of their lives.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children, and our puppy, Clover.
