About me
Jay Pedrero is the Early College Manager and Director of the Dearborn Early College Kickoff (DECK) program at Dearborn STEM Academy, where he has served for the past four years. In his role, Jay provides direct, individualized support to students enrolled in Early College, helping them successfully navigate the academic, social, and logistical demands of taking college coursework while in high school.Jay oversees the DECK summer program and has been instrumental in designing and building the school’s Early College pipeline. He played a critical role in developing Dearborn’s MTSS systems to ensure students receive proactive, targeted support, and he was a key architect of the DECK program itself—laying the foundation that prepares students to transition into an associate degree–earning track while still in high school.Through his student-centered approach, deep commitment to equity, and hands-on leadership, Jay has helped expand access to rigorous college pathways and ensure that students are both challenged and supported as they take on college-level work.
