About me
Dr. Marquis Mason is an Education Consultant with RTI International, a nonprofit research institute headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. He currently serves as Deputy Consortium Chair for the Department of Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC), a cooperative agreement between RTI and the U.S. Department of Defense. DSEC is a collaborative network of STEM-focused organizations united by a shared goal to develop a skilled, future-ready STEM workforce by broadening STEM literacy and providing authentic STEM opportunities for students and educators in grades K-16.
Dr. Mason began his career as a high school biology teacher and has since served in various roles across secondary and postsecondary education, including as an instructional coach and educational consultant. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, a Master’s degree in Science Education, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction.
