I have 29 years of experience in public education, serving as a teacher and school leader, grounded in a deep belief that all students can learn and thrive when supported by strong leadership, dedicated educators, and engaged communities.I began my career teaching in Burke County, where I spent 10 years teaching second, third, and fifth grades. During that time, I was honored to be named the 2006 Burke County Teacher of the Year. In 2007, I transitioned into school administration as an assistant principal in Catawba County Schools, serving at Maiden Middle School, Catawba Elementary School, and Banoak Elementary School.
