About me
I’m Shawn Brooks Fletcher, a creative and advocate pursuing my Master of Fine Arts in Acting at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). A proud graduate of Morehouse College, I earned my BA in Sociology where I strengthened my commitment to justice, research, and community impact. Rooted in years of grassroots organizing in New London, Connecticut, I bring a solution-oriented mindset to both my artistic work and social advocacy. My mission is to challenge and transform oppressive systems through performance, writing, legislation, social entrepreneurship, and media. My professional experiences span the arts, education, and community organizing, including roles as a research assistant, talent agency intern, and teaching fellow. These roles have sharpened my skills in DEI, communication, and cross-sector collaboration. I’m passionate about telling meaningful stories that inspire change and open doors for others. In addition to performance-based opportunities, I am actively seeking contracted or retainer work in areas including but not limited to project management, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, education, and mission-driven initiatives.
